Hello all.
I recently had the privelage of heading to Waterloo Wisconsin for Treks fitting sequel.
I had much to learn.
Without going into too much detail, the course provided an even deeper understanding of how the human body relates to the bikes we ride.
Cleat placement, Aero bar placement, shims, wedges, functional discrepancies vs, anatomical discrepencies were all covered in great detail.
A stellar cast of doctors ,massage therapists, physiotherapists, and a prosthetic guy helped us with the finer points.
Michel Sylvester who has somthing in the area of 8000 fits under his belt headed up all areas of the course. I came away from my two day submersion with a great deal more understanding of how to address fit issues in the future. I dont know it all by any means but with time and some application of what I was taught I should be able to make you faster and more comfortable at the same time.
I was also privy to watch a pro road race right next to the Trek factory.
Man…I,m slow.
The unfortunate highlight of the race was the early celebration of an obviously gifted sprinter. 40 yards too early to be exact. As the Kelly Benefit Strategies rider blew by him for the race win at the actual finish line you could see the dread cross his face. 90 minutes of work gone.
That is almost as bad as thinking you only had to do 3 laps instead of 4
My thanks go out to Parker for dinner with his family, to Mike for the steak dinner and the “skinny” and to my driving companion El Jeffe for putting up with me driving for 12 hours straight with no music. If you could see what goes on in this mis shapen head of mine youd understand that.
Next stop; Longmont Colorado to ride next years Cervelo,s in the mountains with the lovely and talented James.
P.S.
Lance is going to take it again.
Dave.
