Mother’s Day Ride

We had a smaller group than normal with only 9 riders which was probably due the fact that it was Mother’s Day and everyone else was out with their mom’s for brunch.

Mother Nature stepped up for all the mother’s out there and ordered up some fantastic weather.  It was a little cool when we headed out but it quickly warmed up and turned into a beautiful day.  All riders completed the round trip with only one casualty, Kathleen’s Polar monitor popped off and hit the pavement pretty hard but it still works.

Here are the ride stats according to my trusty Sigma computer…

Distance: 53.47 km (add a couple of km since I forgot to reset my computer before leaving the shop)

Average: 28.89 km (keep in mind we had a pretty sweet tail wind on the way home)

Max: 50 km (Dan was showing off at the Formal Garden and I couldn’t let him have all the glory)

That’s all for now,

Allan

Tuesday Night Crit

I checked out the new crit series tonight (as a spectator for now) and I was very impressed.  Props to the Provincial Team for organizing this series as it’s been a few years since we have had such a thing.   If you want to kick back in the park for an evening I would suggest checking this out.   Not only is is it fun to watch but it’s free.

Okay I’ve gone from not posting for awhile to 3 posts in one night.

See ya later,

Allan

Tuesday Night Ride (Aug 19)

Again we had another great ride with fantastic weather although it was little windy on the way out but on the way back the tail wind was sweet.  We rode at a comfortable pace averaging 30kph for the 40km down Red River Drive to hwy 75 then back to the shop.  It was short and sweet but just perfect for a Tuesday night ride.  One of these times we’ll have to shop for coffee afterwards.

Hope to see you all next week!

Sunday Morning Road Ride (July 27)

I’m would like to post a note on each ride but I’m a little behind.  From what I recall it was a fantastic ride with 18 riders and lots of sunshine.  We averaged 27kph and most of us did the extra loop of Cresent Drive Park in order to get a full 50km ride in.  Great riding by Moni and Bonnie although I’m not sure they were actually paying attention to the road as they came back with some new landscaping ideas for the yards.  James had to head back early for a fitting so he headed up St. Mary’s road and I believe a couple of riders followed.  I hope James didn’t leave you behind and if he did next time you have the right to stick you pump in his spokes.

Anyway this weekend is Muddy Waters so there will be no Sunday morning ride on the schedule.  There will be a bunch of us that will be riding the 100km as a team so feel free to join in and be prepaird for a pretty high pace.  I know a couple of the girls are talking about do the 50km if anyone is interested in the shorter route.

Okay that’s all for now…see you Sunday.

Tuesday Club Ride

Wow!  Another great Tuesday night on the road.  Warm, sunny and little to no wind.  There were only 2 of us tonight so we pushed the pace a little averaging 30.56 Kph over the 51.42km but this will not become the norm.  Jeff and I went out past St. Adolphe by about 3km in order to push the ride to 50km which is about 10km longer than usual.

Thanks for the ride Jeff!  See you next week.
