Fire Sale Heating Up

So, as of today we have received all of our bikes back and they are ready to move. We’ve never seen these prices before, and hopefully won’t see them again!

We have put some of the examples of fire sale pricing up on our site (Link to Fire Sale) and hope this gives you an idea as to what kind of crazy savings you can get on bikes and snowboards.

These savings are on all product that was in the store at the time of the fire next door, so this means we have adult bikes starting at $199.99, and snowboards (name brand ones) starting at $99.99! Stupid deals, this product won’t last long!

We have not received our nordic skis, boots, bindings, or snowboard boots or bindings yet, but we expect to see that stuff arriving on Monday. Time will tell, but by mid week we hope to be running on all 12 cylinders!

Prepping for the FIRE SALE

It is actually a bit misleading, since there wasn’t any fire in our store (so it is more like a smoke sake), but because of the fire we are having a sale…so, kind of close enough? Anyway, we have been getting more and more product in over the past few days, bikes a plenty have arrived and we are getting them good to go for our sale which starts Monday. All bikes still come with our lifetime service, which serves as a testament to the condition of the bikes – they really look great!

Snowboards are in and good to go, and still come with our $115 of service (3 wax/sharpens and a tune in the first year). Hopefully we receive our bindings and boots tomorrow, but they may not arrive until Monday. Let’s hope!

Nordic skis, bindings, and boots are in the same scenario – they may arrive on Saturday and give us time to get them good to go and priced or insanity may ensue on Monday as we attempt to get everything good to go in time!

Prices are going to be put up in (either in full or partially) on Saturday, so stay tuned for some stupid prices, it should be great times!

Fire Update – Monday and Tuesday

As the week began this week we have reopened in a limited capacity allowing customers to pick up their equipment as it is completed and to look at what we have put out that was off site when the fire occured next door.

We know at the moment we don’t have a lot in the store, and the new slatwall and other goodies won’t be installed until a week before Christmas but don’t fret. We’ll make it back to you all, just stay tuned to our website for more information as to what we are doing for the remainder of the month of December. It should be worth the wait!

The shop is starting to fill up with some product as it arrives from our suppliers to restock what we know isn’t coming back. Soon enough we will be back up to full operation and even better than before.

Fire Update – Sunday

Well, today was a day of tagging product from our warehouse and generally trying to organize the shop and clean up the clutter from the week of renovations and also some other housekeeping that was made much easier without anything significant in the store to impede our progess.

So, for the moment we have a small amount of clothing in the store, as well as some miscellaneous parts and accessories that are good to go.

On the other hand, we already have product on the way for winter cycling, training, snowboard gear, as well as nordic gear. Keep your eyes peeled, we are working on something HUGE to get back into the mix in a BIG way.

Stay tuned, we hope to have something big for you.

Also as a recap – our shortened hours this week are:

Monday – Friday 10-6

Saturday 10-6

Sunday 12-5

Fire Update – Thursday through Saturday

Apologies on not keeping up on these updates but everything tends to blur together and at the end of the day it is tough to remember to post a recap on items that you have already forgot occured.

Anyway the past few days have seen us wrapping up things from a paperwork perspective, and a lot of logistical tasks completed. We have completed the cleanup of the store from the effects of the fire and are now busy getting all of our computers up and stock into the store.

As it stands right now, the only stock we are going to have in the store is the limited stock from our warehouse that was not affected by the smoke at all and is ready to sell for the holiday season. Winter clothing, casual clothing, and other stuff I can’t recall at the moment is here and on sale ready to move.

We do plan on having a lot of our gear back into the store this week as well, and if that happens you can be assured it will be on a killer sale that will make your head spin. More info on that as soon as we get confirmations. Let’s just say if you need equipment for biking (likes bikes), snowboards, skis, etc. then wait a few days…it will be worth your while to wait because we could have the best deals in the province this December!

Now, we will be open this week in a restricted sense as we continue to bring in stock and continue the renovations that are still underway (and will run for a week or two more until totally completed).

Our hours this week (December 8-14): Monday through Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 12-5.

Hopefully our store will be back up to regular hours the weeks afterwards, well in time for the holiday craziness!

Fire Update – Wednesday

Today was a big day. We weren’t insanely busy, but a great deal was accomplished. I can truly say that today ushered in a new phase in the renovations taking place within our store to get us back up and running even better than before.

Almost all of the stock is now gone and being cleaned and examined for lingering smoke smell. To those who have been reading these updates, this isn’t new information. However, while the last batches were being packaged up and sent off, other tasks were completed which have started the ball rolling in our next phase of renovations to blow your minds.

As far as cleaning goes, we have started the actual deep intensive cleaning of the structures that have been in contact with the source of the fire next door, as well as other areas that can still contain any ugly odours. Some pieces have been removed and will replaced with new items and will bring in that nice fresh smell, with the side effect of being new and looking snazzy.

Some of this replacement material is going to allow us to bring out the wide array of our product line back out to you, with the added bonus of making the shop more accessible, cleaner, and more professional.

Once everything makes it into the store and is installed, believe me – you probably won’t recognize the store. I am confident you will believe that this is a GREAT THING.

More cleaning will take place tomorrow with intensive materials which will effectively keep us out the building so don’t expect another update until Saturday. I hope to have some more great news for you, and for us all!

Fire Update – Tuesday

After typing up these updates for the past few days it just occured to me that I haven’t talked about the amazing support we have received from our customers, reps, and even other business owners who have been so gracious and supportive…it truly does make this difficult time easier for us knowing that we have other people in our corner!

So, thank you to everyone who has us in their thoughts! We greatly appreciate it!

Now that it has been said, I guess it is time for the update for Tuesday. Well, more of the same happened – aside from the fact that today almost every single bike has left the store to be examined/cleaned/checked over. All in all there were many times in the day when you figure that there is NO WAY our store could have held so much product for its size, yet every hour we seemed to always find more and more product that needed to be sent out. We always say we have a big store’s selection in our small store…now we know this is the truth!

Today the cleaning process began in earnest as we begin to clean everything thoroughly starting from the ceiling and working our way down. Not to mention the walls, which kind of throws my whole analogy of “working our way down” out the proverbial window.

By tomorrow the store will pretty much be empty of stock and will be full of people doing everything to undo the smoke damage of the fire next door, by cleaning and tearing down anything that still stinkifies.

Our tentative opening date has been set as next Monday, but keep in mind that this date is tentative and is subject to change.

With every passing day we will have a better idea as to when the doors will swing back open, just be sure that it will be with a bang.

Fire Update – Monday

So, a lot has happened over the past few days and it can be tough to single out what to update with as far as what went down Monday. After taking a day to prepare for the exodus of stock that is planned for the week, Monday brought with it even more product exiting the store, as the number of individuals who were in the store tripled as we struggled to get everything out the door in an orderly fashion so that it can be cataloged accordingly and room can be made for the needed renovations.

As we move more and more product out the door, we know that it only makes room to do other necessary tasks such as pulling things down, cleaning everything from the ceiling to the floor, and prepping for the big things due later in the week.

As much as we have done, we know there is still much more to do, and time is always of the essence when considering the time of the season.

Stay tuned

Fire Update – Saturday

Most of our clothing and softgoods have been taken out and we are quickly working to empty out the store as soon as possible so that we can clean everything up and make the shop look even better than before! It is frustrating for us (as it is for you) because as we box up items to send out for assessment, we know that it can take days before we get the information we want on each box that leaves the store.

Be patient, more information on the way as this develops.

Fire Next Door – Friday

You may have heard on the news about a fire in our vacinity…early this morning one of our mall residents had a fire which caused a bit of a ruckus in the building. Unfortunately for them, the fire has substantially affected their location. Fortunately for us, we have only suffered smoke damage and are awaiting inspectors to check everything out and let us know how to proceed.

More updates to come, stay tuned!
